Malaysian Blog Terrorists
Thank you Minishorts and Vincent, Malaysia’s unofficial blog terrorists for providing cheap advertising of my independantly-managed (indie) blog on their respective websites. I was flattered when my blog stats skyrocketed yesterday from a miserable usual number of 0 readers.
There are ongoing issues in the Malaysian celebrity-blogger community, mainly dealing with one’s passion of stiring up blogwars. Yes, it’s a dysfunctional community. Thank the Lord for the existence of indie bloggers like KurtLow.
Still, why do they do it?
Gaining a few extra hundred hits a day might be a probable idea. However Minishorts and Vincent are both prominant bloggers in Malaysia, similar to the likes of Kenny Sia, Suanie and Kimberly. They’re probably already receiving a thousand hits (and growing) daily.
The very gorgeous Minishorts might just be interested in knowing the number of die-hard fans standing behind her if she decides to aimlessly shoot words of hatred in a blogwar. She suggested a dislike for “delusional bystanders, who are too chicken shit to actually take a side” for the fake war that Vincent and her have started, in which yours truly was one of the named bloggers. I am sure she might have accidently left out a few of her readers who already knew their blogwar was intentional, as it was almost unlikely for Vincent to access her blog to pen his thoughts on How To Start A Blog War after their little “argument”.
Most likely it is the need of satisfaction for their attention seeking behavior. They hide behind statements like “blogging is fun”, which really is if it’s applied correctly. But their interest and attitude in starting up a blogwar (fake or not) is the same arrogant fundamentalism that fueled the hatred of the Crusades and the attacks on 9/11. We bloggers (especially celebrity-bloggers) have to juggle the fine line between free speech and malicious attempt to create unnecessary havoc.
The need for blogwars, like the World Wars and Jihad is uncalled for, fake or otherwise. The destruction of rapport among the friendly fellow Malaysians is just not worth fighting for. Save the bitch-fight dramas for TVB and The O.C. and sit back enjoy yet another interesting episode of KurtLow’s life.

Dude, are you into hamsters or something?

if you can’t take a joke, it means you’re too easily offended lah. make love, not war.
eh. besides, i never disliked fencesitters. any fencesitter who calls me ‘very gorgeous’ shouldn’t be disliked at all. but no. oh yeah there are ways to track my phone number.

Minishorts: Hi! It’s great to see you leaving a comment, let alone dropping by. Ah… “blogging is fun”, isn’t it? I’m having fun. Are you? Why would a man resort to desperate measures searching for your number when he could easily just get it from you?
Simon: Great to hear from you, man! Thanks for dropping by.
Eliar Swiftfire: Thanks for dropping by. Cool pen-name, by the way.
Justine: It depends on how much he eats and shits. We can meet up for lunch on Friday and then walk round the city together to find a cute one. How about that?

Kimberly: I read your blog once a while, which already qualifies you to be popular. FYI, Suanie likes guys. It’s not a preference. Maybe someday we can talk this over dinner. :) Thanks for coming. Appreciate it.

Ninja-L-: It’s great to hear from you after so long. Would you qualify yourself as an indie blogger? I guess blogs like mine have not (and will not) achieve pop-status like Kenny Sia, Suanie and Minishorts, who are all great bloggers of today’s Malaysian standard. There was this fake war that was choreographed by Minishorts and Vincent a few days ago, which put many blog readers to a daze… which Minishorts and Vincent announced it was purely for the sake of fun. Good luck in your exam. We’ll talk more after your exam.

just words won’t get a number, there’re far too many good writers online, but yeah, you’re getting there. :)
Comment by minishorts — November 17, 2005 @ 1:14 pm
Minishorts: How about dinner at the House Of Sudanese Food in KLCC, followed by an exciting movie of The Exorcism Of Emily Rose? I’m sure we can work things out.
